Drats! Foiled Again!
Lets see, GOP wins the scandal tainted 50th district in California, Zarqawi dies, Rove won't be charged, jeez, what else can go wrong for the lefties in a week.
Doug at Below the Beltway has more, including the lame response from Howard Dean.
Updated 10:02 Firedoglake has a left leaning perspective. Evidently the new 'progressive' idea is Rove is going to roll to take out someone bigger. For a look at the despair of the left read the comments, they are a riot.

Love it! Hey CP...how about the President's surprise visit to Iraq?
The poor Donks were certain about so many things.
It's not a great time for the rad right either: anti-gay marriage amendment DOA, cervical cancer vaccine approved, Nagin reelected, etc.
LP, that was a heck of a surprise.
Shoprat, I agree, go read some lefty blogs if you need a laugh today.
Paula, actually the Marriage Amendent was known to be going no where. The idea was to get votes on record from the left.
As for Nagins, he was a bigger embarassment to the left, since the DNC's pick to replace him, who they spent $2.5 million advertising lost. There was no GOP candidate in the run off.
And who in the GOP was against the HPV vaccine?
Paula,
A couple minor issues with your contentions of Republican difficulties.
No one expected the Marriage Amendment to pass. However, the senators had to vote and come down on one side or another on that issue.
I don't know many conservatives up in arms against the vaccine. I'm as conservative as they come and I want my daughter protected by the vaccine and don't believe the protection will cause girls to be more promiscuous.
As far as Nagin goes, are you aware who he was running against? Citizens had their choice between two Dems. They chose incompetent over corrupt. I actually saw Nagin's win as a positive for Republicans as Nagin was upset that Dean threw his support to Landreau. I doubt Nagin will make a full effort to get out the vote for Dem's in future elections.
If you want to talk about recent negative Republican moments start with the idiots in the senate coming up with a BS immigration bill that Sen. Kennedy liked. Good rule of thumb: if Ted Kennedy likes something you can assume it is bad for America.
CP,
Oops. You beat me to the punch.
That's okay Bill, still good to have other agree :)
The rad right (as opposed to moderate righties such as CP) was against the CC vaccine because of their nutty idea it will make teen girls more promiscuous. And however you want to spin it, the anti-gay marriage amendment made its supporters, including Bush, look stupid. Nagin? Okay. Immigration is another good one.
The good news just keeps on coming. Pretty soon the libs are going to be foaming at the mouth :-)!!
