We all heard about the 15 year old with the pellet gun at school this week being shot by a SWAT team, right. Well I saw this headline tonight:

And all I could think when I read it was "he was before he got shot if he pulled a gun on a SWAT team."

Alls I can say is you're right!! The kid was brain dead if he pulled a gun on a Swat team.

I had the same thoughts, I even think that the cop who shot him deserves a metal...
An airgun looks just like a "real" gun as far as I know. If I were on of the SWAT people I'd have to shoot. BTW, a pellet in the eye can blind and even kill if it penetrates the brain. I had a Chinese-made pellet gun as a child and I wouldn't have like being holed by it, I can tell you.

Sinister- It was a pellet gun evidently fashioned after a 9mm handgun. So ya, that cop probably in the 1/2 second he had to make a decsion couldn't tell.
The bad thing is that cop will never get over shooting that kid . That's who I feel for , him and his family .
Wally, you are right on that one. Even cops who've had to shoot adults in very justifiable circumstances admit that they think about it forever. With a kid as the target I'm sure it will be worse for the guy.
LP is right. He should get a Darwin Award. Pulling a gun on armed police officers is nothing more than a messy way to commit suicide.
It is tragic, but you can't play around with guns like that.
YankeeMom, you do have to wonder, and the media doesn't do a good job of telling us, if he was being treated.
SR- A retired cop I know said they called it "suicide by proxy" when it happened to a few guys on the force where I group.
Yeah, I'm with you and waiting for the MSM to make this some sort of federal case again authorities.
