A Couple of Updates.

Alito Update:
I haven't had a chance to watch any TV, or even listen to the radio today about the Alito hearings, though I did catch some news on the net during breaks at work.

However, Large Bill, of "Large Bill Pontificates" has a great rundown of today's Op/Ed pieces on the hearings.

I did find the Joe Biden piece about wanting to get rid of the hearings interesting. I guess Joe finally saw the clip of his 1800+ word, 11 minute question and decided by doing away with the hearings he'd be less embarrassed.

If you'd like to feel a little angry, Thunder Run has some comments from the Daily Kos site concerning Mrs. Alito's crying episode yesterday. Thanks David for doing the dirty work for the rest of us. I offered to buy him a case of soap to wash the Kos' scum off after that visit.

Washington Post's Supreme Court Blog has the ABA testimony, which basically blew the "he hates the little guy" argument out of the water, along with other hits of bias, impropriety, and poor judgeship. Maybe they should review Schumer now, he's a lawyer.

NEW ADDITION: Check out the moderate left's take on the hearings at Bull Moose. Kennedy and Co. need to visit this guy occasionally.

Stokely Update:
I've gotten a lot of good ideas for an ad in the Post, and offers to help pay for it if Mr. Stokely decides he'd like to run one. Thank you!

For right now he's submitted a new letter to the editorial board, that hasn't been "widely circulated" by us bloggers, in hopes they will print it. I'm not holding my breath.

Having read the Post's advertising policy, the original idea of printing an ad that says they wouldn't print the letter is probably out. They have disclaimers on both the print and internet sides that disallow any advertising that is critical of the Post or it's content or advertisers.

Other avenues to get his message out are being looked into, and after this round with the Post I'll discuss them more here.

OOPS, almost forgot, for your "laugh at the treehuggers" post of the day, check this out at My Republican Blog.
