Boehner New House Majority Leader
It took two votes to settle on a winner, with Boehner and Roy Blunt as the two finalists. John Shadegg and Jim Ryun dropped out of the voting after the first round when the both had poor showings.
Boehner, though will probably be better for the GOP than Blunt, who was seen by a lot of folks as just an extention of DeLay, since he was hand picked by DeLay as the interim leader.
And in case you were wondering, the press is getting the spin moving already, with quotes like this one:
Boehner is a longtime Republican insider with close ties to lobbyists, as was Blunt
I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the Post spent 4 paragraphs trying to paint Boehner as just another lobbyist lackey, thats been their tone since DeLay stepped down.

They would not admit a Republican was a good guy if God Himself came down from Heaven, put His arm around him and said "Here's a good guy".
Doesn't matter what party, they are all lobbyist lackeys. We now have the best govt. that money can buy.
